The book, based on his PhD-thesis written at ZEF, provides a detailed empirical account of local electoral system, public access to information, and consultative meetings as mechanisms to assess political accountability of local governments in Ghana.
Apart from presenting the book, Honorable Ing. Dr. Nana Ato Arthur will also discuss in how far his research and obtaining a PhD has helped him to build his career as Head of the Local Government Services in Ghana and Member of Parliament. He will also talk briefly, in how far his research has had an impact on the recent local government reforms in the country.
After a short presentation, there will be room for discussion with coffee and refreshments.
